It was an insulting response. I’m not a bleeding heart liberal, and I certainly believe people need to be responsible for their actions, but this was just a dumb thing to say.

If I were a parent in the audience and heard some a-hole say that about my kids and his classmates I would have beat his arse. Totally unprofessional taking a shot at children like that. F that guy.

What was more insulting is these kids don’t have a chance because the “adults” that should be raising them are more interested in playing the race/victim card instead of acknowledging the cold, hard truth and taking fricking responsibility for the “community” they claim to support.

Schools are products of the population. If a school is failing, its because the students don't have the capacity to learn and their parents are irresponsible.

I won't go that far. There are some very intelligent inner-city kids. The problem is these kids are ridiculed for being smart and caring about school whereas it's cool to not give a shite and be a thug. We have to change the mindset of those children and it starts with an emphasis on education at home. It's damn near impossible for these struggling schools to motivate children to strive for success when it's not expected from their parent(s).
