Scammers at it again

Wish these maggots would be caught and locked up for eternity...preying on the elderly and trying to cash in on the little money they may have.
Call came to my Dad to inform him that his grandson is in jail in Jackson, Mississippi and if he wanted to get him out a call would come later telling him what to do.
Well, we all know that the next call would be instructions on how and where they wanted the money sent to them.
Inform your relatives and the local police when these scam calls come in. Luckily, my Dad is not as gullible as these low-lifes would want their victims to be.

Same thing happened to my mother in law. Dude on phone pretended to be the grandkid with a broken nose. Almost worked.

The caller from Jackson, MS with an Indian accent should’ve tipped him off.

Up here it was the IRS calling threatening to send the police and lock you up in jail if you don’t pay up NOW with a bank account or card.
I got such a cathartic belly laugh out of it; all while they are yelling in broken Indian accent English demanding to know what’s so funny…
We ought to be able to utilize US Intelligence to trace them and drone bomb them…bet that shite would stop real quick.

Older lady we know got hit for 20k on this before telling her family about it. So sad...

The tech support scams are the ones that trick a lot of elderly people. Scammers should be shot.

Same thing happened to me 20 years ago in Nigeria.

Elderly stupidity is not an excuse.

I say "I have a phone call tracer, hold on I'm getting your location... Asia...south Asia..Indian subcontinent. " by that point they hang up.
I like to play with them.
"Brian? Great name I'm just glad you're not one of the those dirty Indians." Then go off on an anti India tirade to try and get them to break character.

Why can't the FBI do something helpful to the common citizens and track these people down?

This is great.
Sometimes I put on an Indian accent and try to scam them back.
"No no no sir, I have YOUR son."

Too busy throwing people in prison for walking around the capitol.

Same thing happened to my FIL who lives in Mississippi. He told them that whatever he did he probably deserved it and hung up. I can't imagine this scam having much success on elderly men who DGAF.

Girl lost her phone. Scammers got it and called her brother, told him she was kidnapped (female voice was crying in background), and got him to Venmo $1,000 ransom. Brother is well educated, reasonable fellow, but they scared the shite out of him.

Every time they call I try to take as much time as possible. I want them frustrated.

I just check my email to see this. Most of the cc emails are LSUhc emails too. Odd they got my work email in there.
Anyway. I bet people fall for this all the time. "Oh no a $500 purchase. That I didn't do and doesn't show up missing in any of my accounts. I guess I will call and contest it."

Tried the same thing on me. Claimed that my brother was in jail. My brother was at my house eating lasagna at the time so I handed him the phone.

Look at the TO: line, multiple recipients is a great indictator before reading further.

KitBoga on youtube is good for a few laughs sometimes and gets the scammers back.
