It can be a great place to visit. Like most cities pay attention to your surroundings. Most of the people on this board that shite on the city are small minded racist that think every black man is going to kill them, or they live in the sticks and the big bad city will get them. I am not Pro NOLA by any means, but it is not that bad. Better than baton Rouge by far!

Beautiful architecture
Walkable neighborhoods
Warm winters
World class food city
No open container laws

I think we sometimes take the lax open container laws for granted. There are many places in the US with strict laws against it. As long as you don't make an arse of yourself, it's awesome to take a stroll with beverage in hand.

Go check out Pat O'Brien's on Bourbon - get a hurricane. Port of Call has an amazing burger. Blue oak BBQ is the tits. Stay uptown during the night if you don't want to get robbed or die.

I'm not sure why you expect cheap prices, but you're right about fantastic food.

The best and worst thing about New Orleans is that people don't give a frick.

There’s levels to cultcha.

For New Orleans, that’s leave your bullet proof vest at home numbers.

Chicago is way different from No..... I’m a 60 year old white dude and I feel safe walking the streets of Chicago.... Not in New Orleans.... the gangs in NO are targeting tourist........
Based on the historical accuracy of your posts, I'd suggest NOLA as an appropriate host city for a Girl Scouts' overnight campout.
