Good things: I loved growing up there 1950s-60s. I’m glad we moved from there in 1984.

You beat me out by a couple of years. I would never live there now.

It has the best casino in the state.

Its at the mouth of the Mississippi River which is a pretty big deal.

It has a NFL & NBA team.

Whether you love it or hate it, its the most unique city in the US. Its not as cookie cutter as a lot of cities.

There is a lot of potential but it would first need the right leadership.

Take away the rivalry between the Saints & Falcons.. And ATL is a pretty nice city.

They have some pretty hot black women there, but the several times I have been there I never really had a bad experience.

I was bewildered the first time I really visited Atlanta and explored a little. It was nothing like the hellhole I'd heard people in Louisiana describe. That was one of a handful of experiences that inspired me to look for somewhere to live other than Louisiana.

It is a huge deal. 49% of the exports from this country go through the port.

I don't think it is a US city. More like the northern most Caribbean city.

For residents, it offers small town living with world class amenities. When I go to the grocery or a restaurant or a store I run into people I know. Not just my neighborhood places but anywhere in the city. Everyone has friends or relatives working in the banks and the hospitals and schools here. It is a familial city.

But it also sees 15,000,000 tourists a year, so what do you like? It has world class restaurants, professional and college sports, major road races and triathlons, 5 different universities and major museums. If there is anything of cultural import on tour it is stopping in New Orleans.

And that’s basically why you live here. To live in a small town that enjoys a seat at the world stage.

In 1814 they helped keep the British from taking control of the Mississippi River, making Western US expansion possible.

Every time I go to that city I have an absolute blast. New Orleans really is a city that if you love it, it loves you back.

It's not for everyone but if you give it a fair chance it's a pretty magical place.
