Was taking a nice post lunch stroll through the park and maybe 50 yards ahead of me a couple is walking their sweet pitbull, the woman was holding the leash. A kid maybe 10 years old and his dad pass me on their bikes then pass the couple with the pit. The dog snaps and the woman cant hold the leash. The dog knocks the kid off the bike but luckily was only on him maybe 3 seconds before the owner pulls him off. Kid has a mark on his arm but nothing horrible.

Basically the couple says "oh so so sorry" and they just walk off. The dad is in too much shock to really tell them to fricking wait. I call 911 and wait for cops to get there (about 30 min, solid response time NOPD).

Basically took a quick statement from me (not that it will go anywhere, my description fits probably half the city)

Dad declined paramedics, said he will take him to ER himself.

The end.

Sweet dogs.

They'll probably be able to get a good start based on your camera phone pics.

You called the cops instead of shooting the pit?

This worries me all the time. The Bay Area is very pet friendly and dogs are allowed in all regional parks. I go hiking with my 3 year old and pit bulls are off leashes. It's terrifying.

A while back I was walking down the street and this little lady had her huge dog with her. The dog snapped at me and she hung on to the lesh...barely. Dog was pretty much dragging her. I called her out. Told her to control her effin dog. She gave me some sorry arse excuse. Told her I didn't care. Lady died couple months later

The dad should have grabbed the leash and started windmilling dog into sidewalk.

The dad should have said "come at me, bitch" and started punching the pit in the face. Shoulda made his arse quit. Must be beta.

If a human would have knocked his kid off the bike and tried to bite him I feel this story would have gained traction.

Dogs and dog owners get a pass for fricked up stuff.

I have no problem with people owning dangerous pets, you should be held responsible for it making stupid decisions though.

I would have made it a much, much uglier scene.
