‘Dead body?’ vs ‘Live body?’
Bodies are bodies. We don’t freak out when we see ‘dead cow’ at the supermarket, we think ‘wow, ribeye!’
People all die, and most don’t plan on it. Respect those who die. We all do, in time. It’s part of the process of life. Granny and Grandpa and all us olds thank you.
Except I will live until 120, and then just dry up and blow away.

Scruffy works in the ER, occasionally both adult and Peds.
Traumas are a bitch.

I'm sorry what you have witnessed, but I've read a couple of your comments and responses and all I picture is this.

Seems the love we have for each other is fading as fast as LSU baseball.
Just remember that we're living in a time period that is safer than any other time period every for people on Earth.
We just have more access too all the crazy shite that is happening, but it's all been happening for a long time, and a lot worse in the past too.

I go by my instincts
This is the exact type of thinking that is wrong in this world today. People set in their ways, and even when they are factually wrong, they just don't want to hear it and won't change their thoughts.
Also, based on your example of the 1930s...at no point will you stop to realize there was no media/access then like there is now, so the only reason it seems that way is because it wasn't talked about in mass media. But by any indication you want to look at, it was worse then than it is now.
You sound like a big Facebook user or something, just a guy who is looking social media drive all of your opinions. Don't do that.

You haven't seen or smelled a damn thing until you walk into the makeshift autopsy room filled with waterlogged, rotten bodies they had set up in Darrow, La after Katrina. Makes my stomach turn just thinking about it.

This is widely accepted fact. News just didn’t get around back the

Unless you are set on feeling miserable about things, you might want to ignore your instincts about "the world" and listen to what almost everyone in this thread has told you. Do some research into crime numbers, read history to see that your and society's reaction to the loss of life is far more concerned and abhorred by it these days than in the past when violent death was an accepted part of life, even a source of entertainment when executions were a big community event.

Crime isn't nearly as bad as it was in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
But I am sorry for your loss.
Are you talking about a dead body on the street? I assume you have attended a funeral..

It affects different people different ways. I’ve always been they type to look and say “man that sucks” and go on with the rest of the day. Once there was a young woman that was in a terrible crash and I think I was the last person she ever looked at before she went unconscious and she never woke. That affected me a little more than other occasions

I met MA a long time ago and have several mutual friends. It's a fricked up thing that happened to him and his mom.
