I doubt they’re taking evidence out in a Whole Foods Bag. Most likely just getting supplies for the family. Didn’t really look like a forensic unit.
Still though, what idiots for parking on the street like that and create speculation if it was just a benign visit.

i’m a huge Dateline, 20/20, and Cold Case Files fan.
One of the things you always see on those shows in cases like this are cadaver dogs. We know they’ve been looking all around the daughter and son-in-law‘s house.
Has anyone seen any report or video of LEO bringing in cadaver dogs? you would think that they would’ve brought in dogs by now. Maybe they have them we’re just not seeing it, but it seems like something that would be reported. Perhaps they’re trying to keep it from the family so the family doesn’t think that they’ve given up on finding her alive.

I suspect this is also getting more media attention because
A) it involves one of their own so it matters to the media
B) resonates with their elderly traditional media viewer base = high ratings

The guy was grabbing mail. What if there was a ransom letter in there? They’d need that to be clean of prints.
Just guessing. Maybe extracting items from the house for personal use, even if it’s a simple as a toothbrush, still has to be handled like it could be evidence. Because otherwise they could be unknowingly carrying a key piece of evidence away.

For the mail I’m guessing in case they received something suspicious as not to taint it.
