SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco's leaning, sinking Millennium Tower has a new problem after a window cracked on the 36th floor.

"This is a window system that's designed to sustain hurricane force winds so this is obviously of serious concern," said San Francisco Supervisor Aaron Peskin.

Didn't the city or someone excavate near the building, basically undercutting it's foundation?

No way it's a slab-on-grade. Very deep piles, I would assume.

This sounds like the plot to a Dwayne Johnson movie.

They assumed a very high bearing capacity on soil that most likely cant take it. Its not surprising it is leaning.

The glass most likely cracked from axial forces (compression/tension) rather than bearing/suction from wind.
