Samsung fridges are garbage.

The "don't buy refrigerators from companies that make televisions" adage is dead on accurate.

You would be surprised how many of those old fridges sip electricity.

We stayed at an air BnB with one of these and porn popped up on it one day.

I despise these things

The Frigidaire side by side is that if not very close. I've had mine since 1998.
You can still buy the exact same model which has not changed much in 25+ years.

That would be the fridge connecting to the Bluetooth on your phone.

Silver lining is that it’s a Samsung so people won’t be stuck with that fridge for long

To hell with the ads, will the ice maker work? My Samsung fridge hasn't produced ice in years.

Hopefully it’s just like the gas pumps that can surprise you with a loud ad blasting 3 feet from your head.

That would be awesome at 2AM.

no that would have at least made sense. No one was hooked to it and thankfully the kids didn't see. We tried ti figure it out, best we could think is whoever was there before us must have used it to browse something.

We turned the damn thing off

Appliance repairman told me anything with the icemaker built into the door is junk.

Samsung kitchen appliances already suck, especially the fridges.

Big amp draw on start-up for the compressor motor but I’d allow that they aren’t terrible compared to a modern refrigerator.

The bodywork of them are pretty efficient at insulating the interior. Bastards are essentially bank vaults.

Who in the F would buy a refrigerator that blasts ads into your house?

Now you can bring that annoying gas pump advertising experience into your home. Who wouldn’t want that?

I was thinking exactly that. I have gotten to the point of avoiding those gas stations entirely. I can’t stand how loud the volume gets.

I want to stab the folks that make those gas can screens/advertisements, especially when you can't mute them.

I'll just not buy a TV that does it. I know better than to buy a Samsung anyway. They may be great at TVs and phones. But they suck and appliances like refrigerators and washing machines.

Practically no one. But Samsung almost certainly will be burying that "feature" in the fine print on new fridges. The biggest issue is that they're starting ads on fridges that are already in people's homes.
