They didn't mention much in the article. Originally she said she wouldn't seek any legal action if the police department investigated the situation and reprimanded the officerS involved. I guess they didn't do that, or she changed her mind.
Now, it's not just the arresting officer that needs reprimand. The other officer at the hospital that day was wrong as well, and the supervisor was a condescending jackass.

She literally did everything LEGAL. To keep her job, to keep her nursing license, and to keep her patients LEGAL rights.
The cop literally did everything ILLEGAL. You can’t force a healthcare worker to do what you say just because you’re the “law”.
I’m black and blue as they get, but he should’ve lost his job. If the tables were turned, at a minimum with a saving grace and two Hail Marys, the board would’ve suspended her license for years. If she would’ve gotten caught doing what the cop told her, she would never practice as a nurse again.
500k was a great settlement and the cop should’ve been demoted to janitor of police units after criminals shite and piss in them.

Ill get hate for this, but I hate how our system works where the girl gets $500,000 of taxpayers money for one dumbass cops mistake. Im not saying she shouldn't get something, but $500,000 is outrageous.
With that said, the cop should get penalized WITHOUT pay, i would assume...

It wasn't the cop that arrested her fault as much as it was his LT. He was the one that demanded he make the arrest if she didn't draw blood.

Pretty sure she said she wouldn’t sue if the cop was investigated and reprimanded. Don’t believe that happened.
I support police wholeheartedly. But it’s very frustrating to see them rally around the dumbest of their ranks for stuff like this. It makes it that much more difficult to garner support for legitimate stuff like the Sterling shooting when cops have to make tough decisions that were warranted. This is a guy is just a dumbass that broke the law behind the badge.

Noone learns a lesson for $25K. I am happy for her and glad it turned out this way. Hopefully the cop is flipping burgers somewhere really shitty.

Personally, I think she should have gotten at least twice that. If you illegally arrest someone you should lose your job and pay out the arse for it.

Ridiculously high. She was mistreated, and the cop was an idiot, but half a million for 10 minutes of stress? Pretty much hit the lottery.

Getting a warrant was almost impossible. The man was a victim, an innocent bystander hurt in a police chase of a criminal.
He did nothing wrong to pursue a warrant for.

Honestly I wish it was 5mil. I’m as pro police officer as anyone, but what he did was bad and she deserves to be rewarded for it.
