Off Topic, but did you ever see the video from Mark Sudduth/Hurricane Track of meso vorts in Laura's eye? They got video of the windows coming out of the bank (I think). You can tell it is a rotating updraft by the direction the debris was lofted. It was in the eye with no rain. Interesting.

It looks like the center got sucked back under the convection. She is really tilted right now. This is going to be interesting.

Curious as to why St Charles pulled the plug before other parishes.

Looks like so far shear is holding court out there and keeping this thing from wrapping up. Looking at satellite pics there seems to be a lot of it out ahead judging by the cloud tops being blown off from S to N near Louisiana.

Big upper low in the SW Gulf on Water Vapor images could turn out to be a hero here, let's hope.

ULL over Carolinas is pulling away to the NE. Shear should be dropping due to that over the next few hours.

The ULL to the SW isn't shearing it I don't think. The shear would be S to N and it would be north loaded vs SE loaded. If anything it will help enhance outflow a little bit.

Critical juncture coming, the window for improving the organization starts this evening.

Where is the center? Looks like it needs to go almost due West to get to the mouth of the river. Any chance she still misses LA entirely?

There are still some evacuees from south west Louisiana staying in New Orleans hotels after Hurricane Laura .@LouisianaGov says they will not be evacuated out of New Orleans — they’ll stay. @WBRZ

.@LouisianaGov: We're obviously concerned about all evacuees in SE La in New Orleans hotels. Red Cross taken over operations there. We're going to make sure they're safe throughout this storm. #lagov

She looks nothing like that in person. Not even close.
And this is the weirdest OCM obsession, perhaps ever, on here.
