"Operation Snow Shoe" (Jeff Parish's disaster plan) was actually written by Aaron Broussard while he was sitting on a toilet the night that Katrina hit. Tim Coulon is not allowed to get credit for this.

I'm pretty sure he came up with that during the storm... It was Coulon's original "dooms-day"plan to send the pump operators out of the Parish... I specifically remember Broussard saying before the storm they were following that plan, which made no fricking sense.. Remember he said he didn't want to put the pump operators in harms way...

Now, thank God, they have those safe houses...

It's pretty sloppy at the moment and the center is displaced to the north from recent convective bursts.

I noticed the pink showing up. If this is the new center, wouldn't this be farther south than NHC track? That new spot of convection is over very warm open water too. Not much space between FL and Cuba but if thats the new center sandwiched in between.

There are a few pros there and some very good posters but there's also a lot of the ole ultra viol...wishcasting. I mean wishcasting.

They do produce some excellent satellite porn though.

Lot of the folks there seem to have never met a storm that’s not just on the verge of rapid intensification.

That's any weather forum. Then there are a few grumpy pros who think everything will be weak to shite on them.

It's why I like TD for this, the dynamic here is better.

The garbage that is posted on that site far outweighs any good pros. It wasn’t always like that though, but it’s just as bad as the Weather Channel now.
