Why do you get so worked up over this shite? You must not have much going on in your other life

Fish once a week, raise a few kids with my wife, volunteer quite a bit, work every so often. Life seems okay. Could always be worse - I could spend my free time trolling weather threads?

Also, the HWRF & HMON had the pressure down to near 970 by 7:00 pm, I don't think that is going to happen.

Good catch.

Don’t storms have a tendency to blow up in the early night hours? I forget what the observation is callled.

Opposite. Min is near sunset but that can be offset by a system with a well defined core. The fact that Sally degraded so much this afternoon in phase with the diurnal min points to the system not being as organized as it was earlier in the day. A better organized system wouldn't feel the impacts so much and we would see it continue fire deep convection. Laura had overshooting cloud tops in the eyewall at sunset, big difference b/w the two systems.

Now my turn for the Q&A - why do you posts in weather threads at all? I can’t recall a valid contribution you’ve ever made to a weather thread in my time here. You don’t have any real questions, you just stir shite like a

Fwiw, the cone had included mobile at that time.

As has been discussed, ad nauseam, the centerline isn't the destination

Friends,

Mother was quite adamant last night that we evacuate from our home in Mid-City, so early this morning we packed her vehicle and headed east. I was going to tell her that I was confident New Orleans would be spared, but I am a storm chaser at heart. I figured going east would bring us closer to the action.

Uncle offered his condo at Portofino on Pensacola Beach. There was a good amount of traffic on I-10 earlier and we hit a wreck that slowed our progress. By noon we had arrived to single red flags flapping and an impressive storm surge on the island. The parking lot at Grand Marlin was submerged. Winds were sustained 35 with occasional gusts when a squall passed.

We made our way east and got comfortable at Portofino. I had hoped to get a hotdog at Circle K on the island to compare it to buttocksinclarse's recent Racetrac jalapeno dog. Unfortunately, it was closed and boarded. Unlike my travels to Seattle and Portland, I believe this boarding was due to weather rather than riots.

After unpacking, I headed to the beach to collect shells. I was surprised no one else was on the beach, and I found a few scallops, four lettered olives, and enough pear whelks to make many seashell-themed picture frames, which was my goal. As the wind picked up, I asked Mother if I could take her vehicle into the heart of Pensacola Beach where the water tower with the beach ball is. Surprisingly, she said yes. Below are some of the pictures I took from the beach this evening.

While I was out, a public officer put up a second red flag, indicating we had been put under a hurricane warning. An official approached me, without a mask, and then asked me to leave the beach, informing me that the island had just been put under a voluntary evacuation order. I immediately returned to Portofino to inform an obviously upset Mother. She says we will continue east tonight to our cousin's place east of Destin.

Reporting to you live from Pensacola Beach under a hurricane warning, I am,
