No, but it sure has better optics if you kill a guy that draws on you.
Well, that's kinda what happened here ain't it. He didn't exactly take an isosceles stance and draw on the cops but he resisted and went for a illegally carried and concealed gun and got killed.
Facts are the only things that should matter here not optics or how it might be perceived. That's the kind of bullshite the chief and the mayor pulled in this entire shite show of a hearing that took place.

Not a chance IMO

the real tragedy in all of this as a poster stated earlier is that officers from Dallas and Baton Rouge lost their lives. And in my opinion Salamoni is partly responsible

This whole situation is stupidly dumb.
It's obvious Salamoni abandoned all of his training in order to act like a hero. Call it adrenaline, having an agenda..it really doesn't matter.
He acted like a dumbass. He should be fired.
Sterling shouldn't be dead, but shite happens.
Chalk it up to the game.

Ok, so is sterling gonna stand there and be a good boy while k9 is en route?
What if k9 is 20 minutes out?
Call swat?
National guard?
Mom and Dad?
Don’t forget this high frick has a gun on him and there are innocent people all around.

One of my first thoughts that morning as the news started tricking in
I prayed that they never feel that they were responsible in any way

Is the full autopsy out? Where can I find it?

Distance is safety.
Sterling’s hands were visible, Lake and Salimoni were drawn down on him and at a safe distance.
Had Salamoni not gone in like Laron Landry for the tackle, none of this would have happened.
I tend to give the cops the benefit of the doubt but not here.

And if Salamoni showed up with the intention to deescalate the situation instead of escalating it, the thug would still be alive.

Hey im pro cop too but that doesn’t mean they always do the right thing. I’ll generally give them the benefit of the doubt but this man isn’t fit to be an officer of the law.

You have no way of knowing that.
If sterling wouldn’t have pulled a gun on someone, the situation wouldn’t have happened at all.

I always just assumed he was selling them out of a backpack.

I get taking issue with salamoni, but I can't see how you think Lake did anything wrong there

He was scaring away a homeless man who had probably been loitering around the store. Sterling was never going to shoot him. In the 40 minute video he didn't seem violent at all. He just looked confused why the cops went from 0 to 100 in 5 seconds flat. He just wanted to know what was going on and his only explanation was "I'm gonna shoot you in your head"
The communication was piss poor all around.
They treated him like he had just shot a dignitary not someone who flashed a gun at a bum.
