Lake seemed to be getting close to having the situation under control before Salamoni rolled up and decided to escalate the situation by going on a power trip. AS was giving resistance to them but they could of got him cuffed while they had him pinned on the hood of the car if Salamoni hadn't gone nuclear.

And if Salamoni showed up with the intention to deescalate the situation instead of escalating it, the thug would still be alive.
