As someone who drinks entirely too much water, and only drinks liquor with water, this still doesn't help with hangovers

As someone who drinks a good bit of alcohol on weekends (bad habit), I disagree. It isn't a magic bullet by any means, but if I don't have alcohol at least 1 hour before bed and drink 24 ounces of water, I feel materially better in the morning. Do I feel great? No. But definitely better.

For me hangovers are caused by 3 things:

- Dehydration
- Poor sleep
- Stomach issues

If I drink 24 ounces of water, take 4 advil, eat some protein like beef jerky, and take a good probiotic I only have to deal with being tired. And there is no cure for being tired besides getting good sleep. My watch monitors my sleep and it's amazing how just a little alcohol kills your sleep quality.

Through my experience, I've realized that the water is the most important component of that ritual before bed.

ETA:

Anxiety is also there. I'll take 5-HTP, Gaba, Magnesium, and Zinc if I have anxiety and it helps a lot.

Smells like bullshite. Probably a multivitamin with some caffeine with some BS herbs for good measure.

Want to feel sober?

Do some blow then have someone turn on a police siren and lights behind you.

Yeah it’s funny a lot of these hangover cure products all have a disclaimer of “ take our pill before drinking, then make sure to drink plenty of water, drink in moderation, and get a full nights rest’” well no shite, if you do all of those things without your pill you likely won’t be hungover

So true

We need one that says "Do whatever the frick you want, then take 1 pill before you pass out on the floor in all of your clothes and you'll feel like an Olympic athlete in the morning"

That's the pill I want.

I find that Zbiotics help a ton with hangovers if you remember to drink one before you start drinking. They don't do anything for BAC, but they have helped me avoid most of the hangover side effects when I know I'm going to be drinking more than I should.

As mentioned, lots of water and something like a Waterboy or Liquid IV before going to sleep helps a lot as well.

I'm very skeptical of this I'm just imagining the guy who's had 10 too many beers at the bar saying he's good to drive because he just drunk a "safety shot"

Ah, so it's bullshite.

They published their test methodollogy and I'd expect the differences they got in the test and control groups because the method is designed to give you just that.

quote:

A study was conducted with volunteers where subjects were served alcohol for one hour, then asked to stop drinking for 30 minutes; after which time volunteers went through a variety of sobriety tests and were then given a breathalyzer to measure their blood alcohol content (BAC). Immediately following the tests, volunteers drank 6 ounces of Safety Shot and waited 30 minutes before repeating the same sobriety tests. Participants represented a diverse group composed of males and females from a variety of ethnicities and races.

The control group participants were allowed to drink for at least one hour, then wait for approximately five minutes, and rinse their mouth with fresh water two times to ensure no residual alcohol in the mouth and throat. The control participants then took a breathalyzer test, waited at least 30 minutes without a drink (were not administered Safety Shot), and took a second breathalyzer test.

If I am reading this right, the test group drank then waited 30 minutes and took a BAC test. Subsequently, they drank the magic elixir and then took another BAC 30 minutes later.

The control group also drank and then rinsed their mouth out with water, then waited 5 minutes then took a BAC test. Subsequently, they waited another 30 minutes and took another BAC test.

Also, interestingly enough, no mention of what size the people are in the control vs test subjects, when it comes to alcohol processing in your body size matters. No mention of any other items that may impact how quickly your body may process alcohol.

ALso close examination reveals they are really trying to get more investor with this and this gem is also in there.

quote:

“The results of this volunteer study confirm the findings of a number of volunteer studies and clearly demonstrate that Safety Shot reduces blood alcohol content at a statistically significant level and did so at a much faster rate than the rate of people who did not drink Safety Shot,” stated Safety Shot’s Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Glynn Wilson. “While we are very pleased with these results, this was a small study in which volunteers were not very closely monitored. We have started a double-blinded placebo controlled clinical study in order to obtain a body of data that demonstrates the clinical benefits of Safety Shot for people who consume alcohol, as well as those that don’t, as its nootropic formula is designed to improve brain function and clarity for anyone who drinks it.”
