It’s wild to me they built the crossplex facility where they did. Insanely nice athletic venue in one of the sketchiest neighborhoods I’ve ever been in

We’ve stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn at Liberty Parkway several times. Never an issue. It’s on 459.

Came here to post this. The hotel is in a very nice residential area. Mexican place down the street and a sports bar too. Very safe area.

I always stay at the Birmingham Marriott on Hwy 280 at Grandview Pkwy

great property in nice suburban location, and service/staff always on point.

We just stayed @ Drury Inn on US 280 @ I-459 for a family Christmas dinner next door @ Pappadeaux

It was very nice for the price (less than $100 per night through hotels.com) and had fantastic ratings. We really enjoyed the stay.

There is a Hilton off of 280 at the Collonade that I have stayed at 100 times over the years.

I travel through Birmingham a few times a year, and I always stay at the Embassy Suites on John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover. I’ve never had any issues; including parking with a boat, and nothing went missing.

That's really not funny.

Birmingham is safer than Baton Rouge. Put that into perspective, use common sense, and just choose a damn hotel that isn’t in the ghetto homeboy

Stay here OP. It’s one of the safest places in the area and they just did a remodel. This is where all my family stay when they come to visit and I don’t have the room.

Hilton Garden Inn at Liberty Park

If you have a pet or want something different, there is. Drury Inn and some other hotels at the next exit at the Summit. That’s a really good area too but there can be a lot of traffic there. Liberty Park is your best bet.

On a serious note, do not stay at the Courtyard in Hoover. I booked a week there for work. I woke up the first morning, turned on the lamp and it looked like Joe's Apartment. I checked out on the spot.

The hotels off I-65 at the Lakeshore Parkway exit have some of the better hookers in the city if you're into that lifestyle.

Site was previously BIR: Birmingham International Raceway. Home track of NASCAR's nearby "Alabama Gang".

I always stay at the Doubletree near the Summit of 459. Plenty of stuff to eat around there and even a Perry’s steakhouse in the parking lot.

Oxford, AL is an hour east of Birmingham. Plenty of options there.
