Do any of you know much about Saab vehicles? I'm looking at a 9-4x and am curious as to the reliability and safety of the vehicle. Thanks.

They were built so well that they stopped.

They are Swedish and Jerry Seinfeld drove a Saab black 900-S.
That's all I got for you.

My ex-wife had a SAAB. Not a bad car, but repairs were expensive. The damn thing blew headlights too damn often - no matter if they were OEM or cheap...and replacing them was a pain to say the least.
The car was nice and got pretty damn good mileage, but I'd never get one again if they were still in production.
Stay away.

I would stay away. My wife (no pics)had one as a company car in the early 2000's that would just stop working without warning. The engine would die, all electronics would stop functioning.
She had it about 3 months and her company was able to return it to the dealer. I will admit, it was fun to drive when it did run.
It was a 9-5.

What a Saab story.

Yes, they have service issues. There was a mechanic, Kip or Ned, something short like that, who stole a Twix candy bar from me while a friend of mine was in the process of purchasing a Saab 900.

I used to own a 900s. I loved the car and the way it drove. However Saab's have historically been very unreliable and expensive to maintain. I cannot speak to current models, but I would still beware.

Used to have one. Great vehicle until around 80k and everything falls apart. Repairs are stupidly expensive because they aren't around anymore and nobody repairs them.

That's the crossover, right? I think its basically a Cadillac SRX with some Saab bits bolted on. Saab is out of business so any Saab specific part will be expensive.

Only what I know from the movie Crazy People: "Saab: they're not supposed to start all the time".

I would stay far far away from a Saab. One of the biggest POS car brands out there. Get something more reliable and less expensive on maintenance.

They used to be expensive to repair, and it will only be worse now that they are no longer in production.

Invest money in a product that's already gone bankrupt?
