It is a human achievement but let’s not act like we got Mexico’s help with it.

The not-so-hidden narrative: Nothing exceptional can be regarded as an American achievement- even if it actually is or was.
Posted on 8/31/18 at 10:23 am to Mike da Tigah
American exceptionalism was THE driving force putting a man on the moon.
Leave it to Hollywood retards to leave that out of the story.

The difference being, I don’t get offended at personal wamby pamby thin skin bullshite, just when someone tries to steal the glory from the people who funded things like the moon landing, America. That’s what you should get offended at. The fact it doesn’t says more about your loyalty to your own fricking country.

Meh. It was a distinctly, explicitly American achievement. Spin it any way you like, baws, but going to the Moon was about the Cold War - period.

I dont really care about these things, but America getting there first was a huge reason we did it. Most people did not really care about studying some moon rocks.

If we depended on innovation from the Canadians to land in the moon we would still be trying to go higher in a hot air balloon

As terrible as that would seem, there should be little doubt we were much better off installing these men into our science programs than allowing the Soviets to utilize them. Our world could very well be much different today, if we hadn't.

from a business perspective it was stupid.....domestically.
abroad, people are not necessarily going to be offended. Rather, they may applaud it.
I do think it was recklessly exclusionary and trivialized what otherwise would've been a great story to tell. no need to politicize it..

The space race was VERY patriotic in America. It is a symbol of tensions with Russia and our effort to stay ahead of them on the global scale in every way possible.
These comments are just ignorant.
