Sad to see that the Russians have finally relented to wearing safety vests during military operations.

Do y'all honestly believe the Ruskies are the world's leader in this technology?

Hah.
Welcome to the party Russia. You’re about two decades late. But no point in hypersonic vehicles when you have a fighter jet space shuttle up there.

The Chinese railgun is the one I think we should be concerned about. It is by far the most likely to be deployed in a conventional war. The hypersonic missiles being tested for nuclear war don't really shift the balance much more than current ICBMs.

This what I meant by a KEW (kinetic energy weapon).

Don't worry, baw, we have the Rod from God ™ ready to go if we really need it.

Granted, if someone else has them, well, you can't do shite. Much less defense against those than a nuke.

Do you really think we have satellites up there with tungsten rods ready to be dropped? Do we even have the rocket lift capacity now to put those up there?

First, I am pretty sure the US has the capability and China is not far behind but I doubt seriously we are operational for two reasons. One, the Space Treaty and two, moving that amount of mass into space couldn't be hidden and there would be several countries that would be well aware of it, some of which would definitely blow the whistle.

What exactly are ya'll talking about? Tungsten rods in space? Explain please.

Also, I can't even imagine the technology our military defense has out there that we have no clue about.

I've always thought how freaking awesome it would be to be a fly on the wall whenever someone is elected president, and they sit him down to tell him what we have the capabilities of and what we know. Who does that? Someone has to tell him. I imagine it's different individuals that know different things but someone, other than the president, knows all the dirt. Who is that guy?

Basically, it is just dropping a very high mass/density finned rod from outer space. This would allow it to hit the ground theoretically around 10-12 MILES per second. While nowhere near the destructive force of a nuke they are projected to be much more powerful than a MOAB. Just think of it as a weaponized meteor.

They're beyond operational. America h
as already moved past them technologically. They're up there and can be used at anytime.
