You need to repair your sarcasm meter. You must have one of those with the fancy electronics board that constantly goes out and is expensive to fix.
Seriously I know people who love this dude. My late uncle Phil talked of Rush like he was a god. A lot of older pubs love him.

Making it demonstrable over recorded history with eyewitness accounts of one "kind" becoming another "kind" would make it more believable. I understand the theory. It depends on stretching everything out over billions of years because of descent with modification ultimately leading to higher levels of organization.
Why are you putting "kind" in quotes? What is a "kind"?

Species. As in a wolf can create a pug, but not a dolphin.

Seriously, let me ask you a question. Would you say humans have evolved in the past 100 years? Like I said before, just in the past 100 years the average human height has increased so has the life expectancy. We continue to evolve through technology. Do you think one day humans just appeared on Earth? Look at how the Earth has changed. Here is a diagram for you.
As the Earth evolved (or transitioned) all living things had to adapt to their environment. The shite didn't happen over-night, but to say there is no evidence of some type of evolution is just stupid.

We didn't evolve from monkeys or gorillas, we just share a common ancestor

Rush is free to submit his scientific findings for review.

ETA.2: I guess my question is better framed as this - over hundreds of thousands of years, I wouldn't think there would be so many "close cousins" in the animal and plant kingdom.
Again, I'm not questioning evolution, but perhaps I'm thinking of it too literally
Think of it this way..
You and I are chillin like little monkeys chill. We live in the same village, eat the same shite, and chase the same ladies. One day.. an earth quake splits our village in two. One side gets the the ocean and fruits.. the other side gets jungle and hogs. We never see each other again (or if we do.. it's rare).
You think in a few thousand years our families would look the same? Distant cousins at that point... One group would likely remain relatively unchanged due to the abundance of food.. the other (if they survived) would be better suited to catch and eat hogs or harvest food from a more harsh habitat in some other way.

I don't believe in evolution. No one has ever witnessed one "kind" become a different "kind". There's a problem with the definition of "species". Just because a virus "evolves" via natural selection doesn't mean that it ceases to be a virus.
You believe in the "micro" modifications but not in speciation.. which is just microevolution on a macroscale.

Not any with a lick of sense.
Initially I was impressed w/ Rush on how he almost single-handedly revitalized a dormant radio band.
He was saying things a large majority of Americans agreed with while the left called him "fat".
About the time of the McNabb incident he went a bit nuts. He has been a caricature of himself for a long time and I haven't listened in probably 10 years.

What about neanderthals? Those idiots's DNA were almost just like humans, but humans had the ability to get rid of them.
Certain human populations share key gene sequences with Neanderthals as early man bred with them.

Jesus was like unto man. So, does that make Our Lord Jesus related to apes?....God created Adam and Eve. END OF THREAD.

Sure...he hits a bunch of the right talking points, but something about his post reads as troll rather than true believer...
Maybe I've just grown cynical about this here! haha
Frankly, I looked at both sides and the bible has absolutely bat shite crazy stuff in it. But when I consider where and who we are, floating around on this blue marble as self conscious, thinking beings, maybe it ain't so bat shite crazy after all.
For me, when considering which story is more believable, the bible or evolution, you have to go back to the beginning. Frankly, I just don't buy into the evolution side. I just think they are wrong. Seems to me the main argument the atheist has for evolution is that there is no god. Basically, they say, if we are here and there is no god, then evolution must have had happened, therefore evolution is true. The hard evidence will come later.
Seems to me, no matter what evidence and facts are presented, the other side will always find a way to refute the evidence or just say it doesn't prove anything. No mind is ever changed.
Hearing bits and pieces of the bible, such as talking snakes and Jesus raising from the dead, come across as utter nonsense. Jesus is the key to understanding the bible. If you think that Jesus is just a man that died on the cross, then yes, you have good reason to blow it off. But if Jesus is both God and man who actually rose from the dead, then hold onto your hat, cause all that other crazy stuff in the bible is also true.
I believe the time is coming, say 20 or so years, that what we call "settled science" will start to be aggressively challenged by a new generation of scientist. They won't be proving god, but a giant wrench will be throw into the cogs of popular scientific beliefs. But whatevs.

It is demonstrable in some organisms. Someone already brought up the peppered moth, for one.

I've got to be honest, I've often wondered this myself.
WHY ARE THERE STILL MONKEYS AND APES IF EVOLUTION WERE TRUE?
lineage of animals only evolve under naturally selective pressures. that is the genes that are passed on are those that fit the niche they occupy better.
humans occupy their niche just fine because we are intelligent, self aware and able to adapt.
the current evolution of the great apes fits their niche perfectly as well. they dont have a sub species isolated from the general poplulation that is experiencing selective pressures hence no observable evolution for thousands of years.

The theory of evolution does not state we EVOLVED from monkeys/gorillas/orangutangs
The theory of evolution states that humans/monkeys/gorillas/orangutangs/chimpanzees
SHARE A COMMONN ANCESTOR
Huge difference

The peppered moth is natural selection.
The theory of evolution requires one to believe that that same mechanism operating over billions of years, resulted in a peppered moth becoming an entirely new species
The pepper moth didn't become a bee. It was still a moth. Just like the flu virus. It didn't become a bacterial infection. It's still a virus.
I use kind in quotes because speciation is largely debatable.
