re: Rush Limbaugh thinks evolution is a hoax because gorilla never became human

Why do we worry about gorillas dying off? they are obviously in a backwater eddy of the evolution river?
Inferior species are supposed to die off but nutty enviros want to prop up any and all of them.

The peppered moth became more reproductively successful because it blends in with the surroundings. It didn't become a different species.
And this is the problem with speciation. So, if there's a virus that kills everyone over six feet tall, does that make the under six foot tall people not "human"? Are they a new "species"?

Pics? We also share key gene sequences with frogs.

What?
No..... You just have no 6'+ humans?

You don't understand the definition of species.
Posted on 6/1/16 at 6:33 pm to tuptiger
You should research ring species that result from populations spreading around large obstacles. As the population splits around the obstacle some go left, some go right. By the time they meet on the other side they have evolved to the point the left and right side can no longer breed.

I know some people who I am sure has neanderthal in them, but I heard them neanderthal bitches were freaks.

Well considering the Old Testament was written before the Bronze Age by various tribes and multiple people who believed the planet was a few thousand years old-- which we know for a fact is egregiously incorrect...
And The New Testament was written by at least 4 different people (usually attributed to a 5th mysterious source as well) which was written at least a decade after Jesus' death and became more supernatural and more miraculous and embellished the later in the time the gospels were written..... And borrow HEAVILY from other "born of a virgin, God in a human body" narratives found in previous religions....
I'll place my trust in scientific experiments and journals and evidence that have been peer reviewed and remained sound.

No, they are the same species. A species means they can breed with each other.
People would still continue having children that grew up to be over 6 feet tall (and die in your scenario).
If 6'+ people dying happened before reproducing (and successfully raising their offspring) then their genes would be less likely to be passed on. The normal distribution of heights would shift towards the shorter end.

Evolution is a hoax because it isn't real. If evolution were real there'd be a lot of animals and humans walking around without symmetrical body parts. There would also be monkey heads with human bodies or human heads with monkey bodies and so on. Why did "evolution" lead to animals and humans having even length arms and legs? Seems there would be an large number of "imperfect" beings.

A thirty second google search could be a revelation to millions.

Yeah, that's totally how evolution works.
It's real, you're an animal. Deal with it.

It really speaks volumes for this board that I can not say for certain if this is sarcasm or not. I really hope it's the former, but I believe it's the later.
I really think anyone who doesn't believe in evolution in this day and age is either an idiot or wishes to remain ignorant on the subject, which I think is actually worse. Saying you believe in microevolution and not macroevolution is like saying you believe in microeconomics and not macroeconomics. Macro and Micro just mean big and small. That's really it. It's all relative. One can not exist without the other. Without those really pointless prefixes, they're just evolution and economics respectively.

The theory of evolution requires one to believe that that same mechanism operating over billions of years, resulted in a peppered moth becoming an entirely new species
The pepper moth didn't become a bee. It was still a moth. Just like the flu virus. It didn't become a bacterial infection. It's still a virus.
That's how you think evolution should work? No wonder you have such a hard time grasping it. Someone failed you in your scientific education.

This bit of Rush thinking explains why he so often is heard to say
I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND IT,
when referring to something I understand totally.
the man is really not endowed with common sense or intelligence.
Yes yes, he is making big money. So did Clarabell the TV clown. honk, honk.

At times the OT is compelling proof against evolution.

You are proof of evolution because you are human enough to post on the OT and yet you have monkey brains.

in principle, that's similar to what happened with peppered moths. They didn't become a new species. It's ridiculous. It doesn't demomstrate that humans ultimately came from birds. People extrapolate that because the peppered moth species was more reproductively successful than other moths because of their color that allowed them to blend in with their surroundings, humans came from birds.
I agree that the pepperd moth demonstrates natural selection
