WAT
WAT
quote:
According to the host, “the evolution crowd” was searching for a missing link because “[t]hey think we were originally apes.” “If we were the original apes, then how come [deceased Cincinnati zoo gorilla] Harambe is still an ape?” Limbaugh asked. “And how come he didn’t become one of us?”

It astounds me that this guy is seen by so many to be the preeminent voice in politics.

And there's no way an upstanding site like Rawstory would take this out of context to construct a hit piece, right?

He's got a pernt - if evolution was real there would be no monkeys left.
Posted on 6/1/16 at 2:27 pm to lsuwontonwrap
quote:
A lot of people think that all of us used to be apes,” Limbaugh added. “Don’t doubt me on this. A lot of people think that all of us used to be gorillas.”
Context is always good to paste
thanks

Rush can say some shite that is really spot on, but he's on the radio a lot. Given how doped up he is/was (is he clean now?), it's only a matter of time before you say something stupid.
I imagine if any of us were given a half hour of radio time on a subject we know a lot about, that we would say something either really out there or just plain factually incorrect.

I've got to be honest, I've often wondered this myself.
I'm not questioning evolution, but that seems to be a valid question that you don't see answered often in conversations on the topic.
ETA: It has never bothered me enough to search out the answer on my own, but perhaps the OT can enlighten us.
ETA.2: I guess my question is better framed as this - over hundreds of thousands of years, I wouldn't think there would be so many "close cousins" in the animal and plant kingdom.
Again, I'm not questioning evolution, but perhaps I'm thinking of it too literally

Yeah, I just roll my eyes whenever I see something from the Huff or Salon.

What difference does it make? He said it.

The topic of evolution is amazing to me. I find the people who deny it to be even more amazing.

I'm not questioning evolution,
C'mon Stanford.
Various species come from a primate. It doesn't mean we descended from chimps per se. It means that we are all primates and those other primates may or may not exist. Evolution in itself is not mutually exclusive.

Why do you say that?

Correct. For proof, I listened to TigerDroppings Radio once.

Haha. No it isn't. At all.
It is an absolutely retarded question that shows a complete and utter lack of comprehension on the subject.
