I find that the different Rouse's stores vary tremendously. The one most convenient to me has gone downhill very badly. Their meat selection used to be great. Now, on a weekend, if you aren't there by about 10:30am, you're out of luck unless you're cooking hamburgers. Their produce section is constantly either out of staple items, like BPs, garlic, etc or you get home and cut into them and find they are rotten. They have a lot of chips though! :| And outdated beer.

I love Rouses.

Shop there weekly.

The Rouses stores in Baton Rouge suck, too

compared to what? I have yet to go into a Rouses in the BR metro that sucks- compared to the other options. I guess Alexanders is nicer and more swanky, but not by much.
I really think Rouses in BR gets a bad rap from the small contingent of people butt hurt over Rouses' expansion.

We are getting one in Picayune and I can’t wait. Local option is ok at best and I detest grocery shopping at Walmart.

Gentlemen, as I stated in my OP I've gone to multiple supermarkets, and none of them have the same missing product/lack of employee issues that my local Rouse's has on a constant basis.

then go use those other stores

I’ve just about given up on Rouses. It’s the only store I’ve gone to for probably 15 years. They are always out of shite now. I was giving them a hall pass for Covid but that’s fricking over. Get your shite together.

Almost every time I have gone recently, multiple items are mispriced. For better or for worse, too. It's sad.

All the groceries in BR suck - so I’m comparing the Rouse’s to the ones in Houma/Thibodaux and Orange Beach/Gulf Shores

My husband grew up with Rouse’s and he loves it - but even he says the ones in BR suck

We use the Juban location and it’s fantastic. Always clean, employees are courteous, and shelves are stocked.

I work near the airline/highland Rouses and it’s much the same.

What I've seen is if Rouses built the store themselves then it tends to be nice. If they took over a leblancs etc. then it tends to be shite...

One of their original locations is getting a total rebuild. The store on West Main by Southland Mall is getting rebuilt adjacent to the store. It is looking nice.

Dorignac's

This is my go to for the most part. My wife and I agree on almost all financial matters, but I think shopping and paying more for things at a store like this is worth it.
Of course she gets Walmart pick up for some items, but I love Zuppardos and Dorignacs when I have to shop

Maybe it’s more about your food items than Rouses going down hill

Our neighborhood Rouses in Mandeville recently did a massive renovation and they moved everything all over the place to the most unimaginable locations with no logical order, almost to the point of being like some sociological experiment to see how much craziness people will tolerate.
