We are in a bad spot because we make those who try and stop shoplifting have more to lose than those who actually shoplift. That's a problem.
I'd support laws to protect Good Samaritans (both from a criminal and civil standpoint). These employees should not be in fear of losing their jobs. And, Rouses (assuming they don't require this type of activity) shouldn't be at civil risk of an employee choosing to be a good Samaritan. And, neither the employee nor Rouses should be face civil risk from the shoplifter.

I have the capacity to notice multiple things at once. Not sure why I would have thought people robbing a store and trying to drive off with employees hanging off the truck would be more egregious than two ignorant woman commenting on it. Guess I just focus on the wrong things :(

Cops won't do shite to a shop lifter. Even after you catch them and wrap them up in a bow for them with video evidence they write them a ticket and drop them off at the end of the parking lot at the street. Getting charges prosecuted is even harder, much less trying to get restitution.

I'm with you though. Allow these businesses to protect their merchandise and handle shoplifters with at least a little force to possibly deter some of this shite.
I worked for Winn Dixie in High school, our store manager was a true country BAW and would hogtie shoplifters with his neck tie. We didn't get many repeat offenders.

There are very few black people where I live, and the few that do live here are wealthy and well educated. These two women filming this are morally bankrupt and horribly uneducated. Are these two women typical of average black people? God I hope not.
