No they don't. Fed Ex deals with it.

And they're going to tell you to frick right off because of an ice and snow storm that screwed them all over the country.

You harassed Rouses for a $25 refund? And now you'll dispute CC charges? All for a shite king cake? All because a historic winter storm caused a delay in shipping that had absolutely zero to do with Rouses?

I'm so eternally grateful I don't know you in real life. If you have a wife, has she left you yet?

Who was that with?

Rouses. I spent too much money with Randazzo's, Haydels, etc. on King Cake this year so I made my last purchase with Rouses. It was delayed in Memphis just like the OP said and when it finally did arrive it showed up with the frosting melted. I emailed Rouses at 7am PST and by 12 PST, I had a confirmation that I was having a new one sent out to me next week.

No, you paid for an item to be baked and shipped. Rouse's doesn't deliver.

Harassed? I made a fricking phone call to customer service.

But yes, $50 is $50. I guess I'm supposed to enjoy giving money away for nothing in return?

I bought some firewood there but it didn’t burn so well. They wouldn’t refund my order either.

Why do you blame Rouses for FedEx not delivering your king cake?

Rouses owes you nothing.

No, but you assume the risk of acts of nature like a monumental ice storm delaying a shipment.

Do you think every distributor in the south is eating refunds on parts and deliveries that won't be delivered this week and next week? The answer is no.

Do you want them to bake you another one and drive it over to your house?

If only I could be you.....if not getting a king cake promptly (due to an act of God by the way) is such a huge life altering issue to you that you have to go post about it on the internet, you must be pretty charmed.

Holy Crap

Dude, they baked it, they shipped it...it’s an issue with the shipper at that point

While this may be somewhat true, until the good reaches the end customer they cannot recognize the revenue, so it would be good for business to ensure the cakes were actually delivered.

If you order an item from Amazon and you don't recieve the order...you don't fight with the shipper, you talk to Amazon to mitigate and make the situation right.

1. if you think Amazon is refunding an order for a non-returnable product purely because deliveries were delayed by a massive cold weather event. I have shite I ordered 3 weeks ago from Amazon that’s still in some UPS black hole.

2. I’m sure you didn’t agree to their return policy when you ordered the king cake... right?

The one argument you may have is if it’s past the sell by date by the time you receive it. Even then, though, it all depends on what you agreed to with their terms & conditions or purchase.

I agree that it’s kind of shitty. But it’s not really their fault that FedEx, UPS, and USPS all had nationwide delays. When did you order it? I’m curious why it didn’t ship until 3 days before Mardi Gras in the first place.

Uh no...

You're telling me that for any product you ordered that was shipped via UPS/usps/fedex and wasn't delivered, you didn't approach the company but talked to the ups/fedex instead? Gtfo.

Or if you had a customer and you shipped them a product that wasn't delivered and they called you, you'd tell them to frick off, it's not your problem?

....
I mean the argument for the rouses policy with the weather delay is valid(I honestly didn't see that and customer service didn't mention it).

But seems asinine to think that it's good business for companies to adopt the policy of not giving a frick if their products reach the customer or not.

There's a huge difference in this and refunding your money because of shipping issues during an ice storm. Besides, the cake is DELAYED not cancelled. These are the risks one assumes when they order perishable products and have them shipped around the country.

Oh no, whatever is Rouse's going to do. Look for them to close their doors within a week, since their entire business model depends on shipment of king cakes.

You assumed the risk buy asking a grocery store to ship something.

Not reading this whole thread, but has anyone suggested that you may need to consider being less of a f@ggot?
