So what is the breakdown of what allegedly happened?

We'll know more at 10. The last I saw reported led me to believe Gasser wouldn't be charged.

They need to understand this is how the justice system works. innocent until proven guilty. Riot all you want the process takes time.

"Manslaughter" should be worse than murder imho

Why? Someone killing in the heat of passion as opposed to someone who kills after cool reflection?

I think he means the term manslaughter should be reserved for the worst crimes because it sounds so abhorrent.

He did but he's still owed due process for the facts to come out which is why he's still only "accused". He is accused of manslaughter AKA killing in cold blood but once the facts come out it could be self defense.

just don't think the jury will convict him beyond a reasonable doubt on the current charges. Who knows though.

It's just sickening honestly, and IMO it's a perfect example of why racism will never go away.

IMO Gasser is guilty, I believe he has anger issues & had ample time to do things differently.

BUT, your statement is 1000% correct.
It seems like if there is an altercation between different races then it is automatically racism & there must be protests.

What happened to people just being bad people & committing crimes because they wanted to?

If I were in his shoes and I capped a dude 3 times that pinned my vehicle in and broke into my car (alledgedly)...

No matter what happens, life is changed forever.

Participating in the slaughter of others, no matter the how/why changes you.

So i googled Louisiana Manslaughter to get a better understanding of what it may mean, and boy do they seemingly strike gold in their example.

LINK
quote:

Manslaughter is when murder is committed under mitigating circumstances. For example, manslaughter might be when someone is attacked, the attacker walks away from the fight, but the victim kills the attacker as they are leaving. It can also include a husband who comes home to find his wife is cheating on him, and in the heat of moment, he kills his wife and the other man.

Generally speaking, manslaughter is not self-defense or justified killing, but is an attack based on an event which might have provided sufficient enough provocation to deprive the offender of their self-control.

You are right. More white people will want the guy to face prison time if he is guilty than blacks would if it was a black guy killing a white guy.

Oh no. Nothing like that. It just sounds worse to slaughter a man as opposed to simply murdering him.

Unlike the Hayes charge of murder. Hayes will/should walk. If they had properly charged Hayes with manslaughter it might have stuck

In murder case, jury has the option to find defendant not guilty of murder, but convict on a lesser charge such as manslaughter. So they can still find him not guilty on the 2nd degree murder charge but convict him of manslaughter during jury deliberations

JP smarter than OP

Manslaughter is a responsive verdict to murder. The jury in Orleans can convict of manslaughter if it wants to.

I think manslaughter is a responsive verdict to 2nd degree murder.
