Why does every city need a Martin Luther King Dr?
Posted on 9/15/17 at 8:40 am to TH03
He was a hero because of Texas independence.
Once again, the Dallas resident knows nothing about the state "he lives in".
It's almost as if Dallas isn't really Texas.

Ever heard of the US/Mexican War?
Right, right, well surely the statue had him in his US Army uniform, from before he led an insurrection against the US, right?

Christ you guys are a bunch of chicken littles. Lose a couple of monuments to white supremacy and the sky is falling. You still have your privilege, brosephs.

What do you think it should be replaced with? I think it should be replaced with a sacrificial Foot Locker so all the brosephs can get their holy Jordans whenever they want them. Especially in time of need such as a hurricane or the oppression of not enough World star videos.

Do you consider Jefferson a white supremicist?

There is a group exploring the property records for that park.
They believe it was donated to the City for the purpose of honoring Lee and that the y may stipulate that the city must return the property to the family in the event that it is no longer used for that purpose.
It's a very valuable piece of property.

Dallas in reality is segregated by neighborhoods.
I learned this real quick moving here.

It was called "oak lawn park" before 1936 (the Texas centennial, when the statue was erected and it was renamed for Lee), so I don't know about this.

I'm surprised you can remember to breathe after that display of idiocy. You just don't get it, do you? Offended by everything I'm sure.

FDR dedicated that statue
Guess he was racist too
Typical meaningless gesture
In the words of your hero Donald Trump:
" They have to go'.
Everyone knows FDR & Dems pandered to Southerners in order to keep the New Deal Coalition alive.

FYI, Robert E. Lee didn't want any recognition nor statues of himself. He would be ok with it. So should we.
