Same. That statue is in such a nice area too. I love working out in Lee park. A nice grassy area not many people know about in Uptown. That was one of the most beautiful statues in Dallas. frick Mitch for all of this.

Sam Houston helped establish Texas, and wasn't a traitor. Refused to join the Confederacy. He'll be fine.

Thomas Jefferson wasnt a part of the confederacy either. That didnt stop the BLM mob from sacking his statue in Charlottesville...

Psst... San Houston owned slaves and opposed abolition. Just because he didn't want to secede doesn't make those two facts any less true.

Guess he was racist too

Typical meaningless gesture

I don't necessarily care about the statue, but it's the principle of giving in to these cry babies. Our society today is too offended/too PC and on a dangerous slippery slope.

More statues removed under Trump than all other presidents combined, and he's not even 8 months in.

Seriously though that statue was striking in person. It towered above Turtle Creek and glistened when the sun hit it.

So disappointed in my city. They voted on it and had someone there to take it down within the hour. Meanwhile our roads look like fricking dog shite. Nice job you heroes.

You say this as if facts matter to these loons. When will you realize facts don't matter? This is about revenge. It's payback. It's not about healing, and it's certainly not about equality. It's about erasing as much "whiteness" as possible from society.

There have already been loons calling for the Sam Houston statue in houston's park (the park by the museums) to be pulled down. And yes, once they've had their fun with statues and flags, they'll move on to street names, city names, state names. They'll want plantations burned down. Nothing is sacred, nothing is off limits.

One day I'll buy a small plot in the middle of a nearby city and have a Confederate memorial erected.

Exactly

Once the loons are done whining about the statues it will be something else.

Leftists need something to be offended by, is required for their "movement".

ANTIFA has already said they will try to remove his statue. Do you think Thomas Jefferson was in the Confederacy?
