Its a shame none of you got to experience Murpheys in its prime. Or TA's or Uncle Earls (the original).

Then you'd know how fricking stupid that article is.

I always thought Tigerland was on the other side of Nicholson past the sign that says Tigerland.

Crazy that Shady's has rebranded three times now in recent years, while the other 6 TL bars haven't once in that span.

I do miss Shady's. If it came back, I'd be happy.

That was trees when I was at LSU as was 4600 Burbank and the entire triangular space from Mellow to Shell to Walk-ons.

I'd like to travel back to 1992-1993 with 18 yr old drinking age, Tiger Bar, Snorkels(was whole building where Mikes and JLs is), Sports Illustrated(Reggies), Freds, Murphy's(The Venue apts), Bengal(Thrift store on Highland now). And venture to the Varsity to see Hootie and Blowfish, Counting Crows, etc for $5 months before they blew up.

I went to Shady's on either opening night or shortly thereafter, and there were plumbing issues. The bar was actually partly flooded with toilet water and god knows what else. I didn't stick around, but plenty of people did. Power of alcohol I guess.

Here come all the people claiming they have a piece of the broken Shady's sign

I know for a fact nobody has a piece of the building sign. It's at Florida Parish scrapyard.

I believe they had to replace the sign at least once, large chunks of it broke off and now everybody and their cousin claim to have scooped up a piece.
