Don't really care about Pier 1 or some of the others that haven't survived Covid, but this one hit me in the feels. Stein Mart is the GOAT. Yall better stay outta way when I hit up that "everything must go" sale. I will check knuckles in the Stein Mart parking lot.

Discount department store Stein Mart revealed Wednesday that it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, saying it plans to close a "significant portion, if not all" of its 281 stores nationwide.

"The Company has determined that the best strategy to maximize value will be a liquidation of its assets pursuant to an organized going out of business sale," Hawkins said. "The Company lacks sufficient liquidity to continue operating in the ordinary course of business. I would like to thank all of our employees for their dedication and support.”

A really good (and wealthy) friend of mine is a regular at SM( ). She found me a Turley jersey there back in the day.

Wayfair, Amazon, and Wal Mart were killing Pier One before Covid. Didn’t know about Stein Mart.

Agreed Stein Mart is the GOAT so I'm upset. I'd be even more upset if they close TJ Maxx too.

I've always found Stein Mart to be extraordinarily meh. And the prices were not that great.

I don't know what it is but I can walk into SteinMart and find exactly what I need for cheap in a matter of five mins or less. I am in and out in less time than it takes me to fill up my car.

Love that place.

We were OT poor when I was a kid, so my mom bought me a Knights of the Round Table knock off Polo at Stein Mart. Didn’t fool anyone at school

Used to love Stein Mart but they've gone downhill in recent years. Nordstrom Rack is so much better.

Digging through tables of khakis and Polo shirts at the original store in Greenville was awesome.

I’ve probably been in Pier 1 more than Stein Mart the last 20 years. Always love hearing about those $200 “Ralph Lauren” suits they sell there

My favorite sport coat I own is a Michael Kors one I bought at Stein Mart a few years ago. It's much better quality and fit than the Brooks Brothers one I spent 3x more on. And the Brooks Brothers one was tailored, while the Stein Mart I wore straight off the rack.
