RIP! Heard Norm in an interview once and he said on nights that it was going bad, he would try to bomb as bad as possible. He said many nights turned around with this approach. Guy was one of a kind.

Really shocked. I was going to start a thread today on the TV page about "Norm McDonald Live". I'm about 6 episodes in and I am amazed at how good the show was. He has one guest. The shows are about an hour and a half. There is some corny things in them, but the interviews and comedy are excellent. The Carl Reiner guest appearance when Carl was age 92 was fascinating. I was going to say that Norm would be much more entertaining than any late night host out there right now. I would definitely see myself stopping on the channel and watching every time when I was up and serving channels. Love his story telling comedy and tremendous wit. What a loss.

If you haven't watched the 3 seasons of Norm McDonald Live, if it goes like what I've seen so far, you're in for a treat.

The current trending on Twitter. I’m suspecting Norm is already using his newly acquired cosmic abilities to still try and make us laugh.

I remember an interview with Jim Brewer talking about the cast of SNL meeting the press the first year he was on the show. They asked David Spade who was the biggest practical joker when it came to hazing the new cast members. Spade says well it’s obviously Norm. The reporter then asks Norm what he would consider the worst part of the hazing process of the new cast members. Norm says I’m not entirely sure but if I had to guess I would probably say the raping.

WTF?

This sucks. My all time favorite comic. Just a brilliant unique talent. Guess I'll be going down the rabbit hole of Norm roasts and talk show bits tonight

Jim Bruer and Artie Lange tell Norm stories

And what an upset that Artie managed to outlast Norm. No one, including Artie, would have believed it. We were all pretty confident Norm would be a pallbearer at Artie’s funeral when it’s now the other way around (if they’ll let Artie out of New York for the funeral).

EDIT: Speaking of, Artie just tweeted about it:

I will miss you forever!@normmacdonald
