Riding in back of a garbage truck to work

My friend sent me this.
He said the truck was going down Airline Hwy this morning with the workers riding in back of the rear loader. He titled it “Riding in back of a garbage truck to work”. Looks like Mayor Broome implemented garbage truck car pooling.

I thought that was the best job in the world - best job I could imagine. Ride around on the back of a truck - back in the day they rolled the metal cans. They had cool overalls - the whole package.

I still at heavy equipment operator. Looks fun, but probably one of those jobs you hate after a while.

I owned a garbage company a few years back this is dangerous. Those blades on the box can and have chopped people in half before. At Hwy speeds they should be in the cab.

This happens on a daily basis throughout the country. Those two guys riding are freezing their butts and literally picking up garbage. That's pretty noble in my opinion.

Same here. Garbage man was my dream job.
When my mother went to the grocery, I would stand on the little rack on the bottom and hold on to the side of the basket with one hand. My mom would point out an item on the shelf and I'd grab it and fling it into the basket.
Lots of dented cans in those days and she handled the bread, milk and eggs.
On really hot garbage days during the summer, my mother would send us out to the street with a jug of ice water for the garbage men. That's when I started to realize that being a garbage man might suck.
