This came across my feed for some reason a while ago. Just on e of those silly LA celebrity tours that people go on. Thought it was a cool encounter and I had a better appreciation for him after watching. He was fired up to find out someone on the tour was from NO.

Some guy was going to make a Movie, had like a 25 min clip on Youtube 3 or 4 years back, and Simmons was like, please stop etc. etc. he sent him the clip that I guess is still on Youtube, and he said Richard cried and told him thank you. Seems he hated that people disliked him because he wanted to help people live longer, and he never understood why they hated him for being a go getter type. That why he became a recluse.
The film I guess never got finished, after COVID 19, movies stopped making bank unless it was a super hit. He kinda got on my nerves too, tbh, but when I heard all the people who stated they would have still been a fat loser if it wasn't for him, I started giving him a little slack, hell we all probably would got on peoples nerves if we we in the national spotlight.
RIP, he made a nice little bank for himself. Can't fault that.
