I can promise that the school gave numerous emails and letters to the parents about paying for that and what was coming.
So i see nothing wrong with it.
So i see nothing wrong with it.

That being said, I'm open to some smarter examples. Maybe the reduced/free lunches should be something insanely healthy, cheap, and not what kids want to eat.
So now the cafeteria staff are having to make two different meals? Seems like that will just cost more money and time.
And now you have just singled out the kids who's only crime is being born poor even more? Made them feel as though they are being punished for something they have no control over?

Put your kid, if you have one, in a “break the cycle” scenario and see how gung ho you are
What exactly do tou think the answer is, all you have done this entire thread is poorly attempt to troll and call folks names.
That my friend is a sure sign of low intelligence.
News flash dipshit, no one was deprived of anything, those that did as requsted were given a reward.
I know in your simple world everyone gets a blue ribbon whether they earned it or not, however that is not how the world works, and the sooner ALL kids learn this the better. It is a lesson that I taught my kids myself, along with the consequences of not paying your debts, it is sad that all parents dont feel the same way.

The struggle? The poor among us have free food, clean water, cell phones, TVs, refrigerators, etc.
Get that bullshite out of here, America's poor is the world's upper middle class - and most of them don't even have to work for it. You don't know struggle if you think you live through it.

Goodness. Someone's boyfriend went in dry and rough last night. Having no experience, I cannot offer any advice other than that you might as well start drinking early and often. Chances are, he won't be any gentler tonight.

Ok. What can you do to the parents? Trust me, if you have some sort of mechanism to go after the parents, I'm all ears.

I didn’t say that. Why did you quote someone else and reply to me, gramps?

What part of breaking cycles starts at home don’t you understand?

Why do you need to go after parents of kids that qualify for reduced or free lunch based on their income?

It’s no different than separating the dumb kids from the smart kids.
Or the good kids from the troublemakers.

What do you think hospitals do when patients have outstanding bills after insurances have paid their share?

All of this requires changes to the law and a ticket is a criminal offense.
There is no mechanism for this enforcement.
Laws get changed all the time, especially local ordinances. Why would that be so difficult to do here?

The positive effect is instilling an understanding in young people the importance of meeting obligations.
Is the objective to teach kids a lesson? Or is it to collect what is owed?
If it’s the former, then why are we not teaching all kids this lesson?
