I've shared this story before on this board but I always enjoy mentioning it again -- especially on a Flair thread.
Back in 98', my girlfriend had just graduated LSU and her family and my family got together for a big, celebratory at Banano's on Airline.
At some point during the meal, I got up to use the rest room and bumped into the guy exiting the door. He grabbed my arm pretty firmly to stable me and with a big smile on his face said "whoa there, big man!" He patted my shoulder as he passed went back to his table.
I was standing at the urinal when it hit me -- HOLY CRAP! That was RIC FLAIR!!!
Apparently he was in town for a book signing or some autograph session.
Anyway, he was sitting at the table adjacent to ours and visiting with three other gentlemen and drinking a ton of wine. He was super cordial and polite to anyone who came up to shake his hand or get an autograph throughout the night.
As the evening wore on -- and the wine kept flowing, Ol' Rick got pretty loose and verbose.
About 10 minutes before we left our table, we heard Rick say, very loudly -- "Back in those days...it was all about the sex, drugs and Rock and Roll!
WHOOOOOOOO!!!!!
It was one of the greatest moments ever to be within 8 feet of the man when he did his signature call.
I looked around the restaurant and every guy at every table was grinning and pumping their fists. It was very cool.
He did it again a few minutes later, but that first one was the best!

Sometime around '98 (I guess it could have been that same time that you mentioned), my friend was a bellhop at the Radisson in BR. He said Ric Flair was staying there and looked really worn out on their walk up to his room. He said Flair immediately laid down on the bed and was asleep before he had brought all of the luggage in the room. My buddy just walked out of the room with no tip.

The crazy thing is I think he's telling the truth. It's not like he's saying he banged post Monster's Ball Berry. She was B list at best when she was with Justice. He referenced dozens of celebs. I would love to see that list.
