re: Please tell me more about Maryville, Tennessee

Moved from BSL to Nashville 11 years ago. Have spent a ton of time in East TN. If I’d been given the option, we would’ve moved to Farragut/“Muraville” area. Knoxville MSA is growing at a break neck pace because people want to relocate to TN and Nashville isn’t nearly as affordable as it was pre C...

I live in Nashville. Have had to sit through the whistling every time LSU is in town. If everyone has their own private hell, listening to that whistle is mine....

I sat by some scouts before the Saturday UGA game last year, and they all talked about how good he looked in BP. Something is clearly not translating to the field. Looks like a situation where incoming talent passed him up....
re: The pizza boy needs $122.50, plus tip
Posted by dsloane on 12/23/19 at 7:39 pm
Competition has kept prices low. I also feel like the price per pizza was high versus the national average in the early 90’s. If I’m primarily servicing extremely affluent neighborhoods in the Chicago suburbs, I’m making sure there’s a substantial markup. ...

re: Why did these names of male children become so popular?
Posted by dsloane on 7/30/18 at 9:15 am
The root cause is the slow death of family names. My son’s first name is my wife’s maiden name and my daughter is named after a great aunt on one side and great grandmother on the other side. Our first instinct when naming kids was to look within the family. Nobody seems to do that anymore. I pl...

It was a throw away comment at the time, but there has to be a reason the Asgardians would teach the Groot language. Norse mythology focuses heavily on the Tree of Life. I feel like Groot and maybe his species tie back to Thor.
Beyond that, I agree with most that the next one will be send off...

Future me waits for SVP to wrap up his last run at ESPN, hang his on shingle with Big Cat, PFT, a retired Chris Long, a few guys from the eventuslly shuttered Ringer, and a returning Russillo. All these guys are boys, and every time I hear them together it seems like it will happen down the road. ...

re: Biggest sell out?
Posted by dsloane on 10/1/17 at 8:14 pm
Keeping your sound the same but growing your fan base isn't selling out. Having a sound then completely trashing it in favor of a more mainstream sound is selling out. KOL is the definition of selling out. Don't disagree with Aerosmith, but they were super old by the time Pink came out so they ge...
