I do applaud his efforts with the food pyramid

Is this a response intended for the unhealthy incels getting sloppy and sedentary by playing video games all day? If so, I can see where he's coming from, but I'd rather see the conclusions of Healthcare administrators backed up by thorough research, and not comments like this.
It's a response to alcohol sales falling off a cliff.

I do appreciate the emphasis on avoiding more unhealthy options, and this is a good step imo. That said, it won't matter much until heavier emphasis is placed on the abysmal portion sizes we have. Eating healthier is great and all, but eating too much of a healthy thing will still lead to unhealthy weight gain, even if it is reduced.
The biggest change for me years ago in terms of diet health really was just portion size limitations, and from what I've seen in others, portion sizes are the biggest problem.

Research indicates that high consumption of red meat, particularly processed meat, is associated with increased risks of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer (especially colorectal), and premature death. While providing essential nutrients like iron, zinc, and Vitamin \(B_{12}\), experts recommend limiting intake to 1–2 servings (12–18 oz) per week and minimizing processed options.
Red meat doesn't mean processed meat. The science lumps them all together.
People can't seem to understand that. Unprocessed beef is good for you. Hot dogs are not.

Eating healthy proteins and fats reduces hunger, leads to less overeating.

Brought to you by Con Agra, Monsanto and Eli Lilly.
Also, what is “processed” red meat? Spam? A McD’s burger?

evidence: an exponential increase in diseases like cancer
Nope.
Cancer:
quote:
Long-Term Trends: From 2001-2021, incidence rates decreased for men but increased slightly for women, with women under 50 now surpassing men in rates.
And the upward trend for women is likely due to earlier detection of breast cancer, by far the most common.
Cancer isn't a lifestyle choice, typically, while obesity is.

100% of my diet is listed on that pyramid.

Dietary cholesterol has an extremely small effect on blood cholesterol. Eat all the eggs and red meat you want!

That was the best part of the Keto diet, you were rarely hungry.

That's where/how I learned it... it was amazing how food didn't dominate anymore. Loved it!

I tried sugar busters when I was around 22. In no time I dropped from 199 to 182 at 5’11. I gained about 10 lbs. over the last month with all the eating during the holidays plus less working out. I’ve been trying keto for the last 4 days and have dropped 7 lbs. already. Unfortunately it doesn’t put me at 182 anymore.
