We went to eat the other night & while waiting for a table an older lady started talking to me
She was wearing a mask, which is fine
I couldn’t understand / hear anything she said
I just smiled & nodded, she kept talking, I kept smiling & nodding

I don’t understand how kids are supposed to clearly understand teachers / each other with masks on

Omicron has proven this to be false. It has to do with its mutations. The Covid vaccine only creates antibodies and TCells that recognize a portion of the original spike. So being vaccinated is less likely to protect you than someone who had Covid already with their natural antibodies and TCells that know much more of the “code” that protects them much better than those who are only vaccinated. However, regardless of your status, omicron is mild. Period. So getting is would actually be a blessing because it’s no deadly and it helps your immune system fight off future variants better. Win win. But frick science I guess.

so in terms of the booster, is there actually any point in getting it?

I wouldn't get a vaccine for a cold so I probably shouldn't get it for this I guess?

It’s certainly not easy. And I feel terrible for the youngest children who are only just starting to communicate. Seeing the words mouthed, picking up on facial expression… those things are vital to being socialized and learning more, at a faster pace. We are literally hindering kids with every mandate and shutdown. They’re being hurt and put at a disadvantage for life.

Is that like Catholic “Tradition” where the church made up things that weren’t in the Bible yet considered to be “law” because once people learned to read the Bible themselves, they realized half of what was taught/done wasn’t even in there?

Yes, they are showing that it has some infection prevention and if you do get infected, it is shedding infections MUCH quicker than those without a booster.

If you are over 60, I'd get it.

If not, up to you.

I'm not getting it. If I have to get it in the future for travel I'll get it then but I don't see it as necessary for myself.

Personally, it doesn’t affect me what he says. But it does for my son who’s in 2nd grade. I’m going to be livid if he institutes the mask mandate again.

This isn't necessarily directed at you but maybe it's time for all the people who "went along to get along" to actually stand up. You've given the government permission to politicize this issue and use it to control you.

We are now at the point where children and young people have and will be indoctrinated at concerning levels. We aren't raising kids to have a healthy, questioning mindset anymore.

Just like the original Vax, it depends on your situation. Are you really old? Super fat? Other comorbidities? Have you had it before? Each person is different and it should depend on those risk factors.

The only bit I heard was he said not introducing any restrictions and he won’t be at the sugar bowl or the saints game

Natural Immunity is much better than vaccine immunity, but that wanes as well after a few months.

We are dealing with a man made virus that has mutated rapidly. There's not a lot we can do to predict and stay ahead of it.

My hope is that Omicron is just another step towards it getting weaker and weaker.

If its weak, and we have effective therapeutics like the Pfizer pill...then what the frick are we doing here? End this shite.
