So they can downsize your food, right? Go to hell, you'll find out come paying time like every other coupon taking establishment.

Paranoid much?

I doubt this is how they do it, but I can only guess at what kinds of places you are going to with coupons. I would imagine the courtesy is just to tell them before they ring up and bring the check.

Doubt it. But it does help identify which entrees get extra spit.

You idiots who don't take advantage of 225 eats or have never used a gift card crack me up. Just tip on the original subtotal and your server could give a frick.

We had an $85 giftcard for a resturant that we built up by points on a $230 meal. We had to speak with the waiter 3 times before he eventually used the giftcard how he was supposed to.

Seriously, whenever Mellow Mushroom has their groupon for $25 for $15 it's getting used. Especially on trivia night.

And I generally tell the waiter upfront just out of courtesy.

Just helps the server have your check ready in a timely fashion, they couldn't care less about your bill being cheaper as long as you still tip.

Down size? Really? Most items are portioned out, and the cooks don't give a damn if you used a coupon or not. Stop find if reasons to complain.

Probably has to do with how the order is entered into their POS system.

There are discount coupons available for many up scale restaurants, such as Commanders Palace.
