Every cruise I've ever been on seats you for dinner at a table of strangers that you somewhat get to know over the course of 5-to-7 days.
Chef Paul Prudhomme's restaurant (K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen) also used to have communal seating in the 80s & 90s. I don't know about the aughts.
I'm not a big fan of communal seating, but on occasion, it can be interesting/engaging.

I want to meet a European that comes to America for a vacation, and ends up in McComb, Mississippi.

One of the many things I love about you BabyTac is how confident you are in your own stupid opinions.

I went the first time when I was 10. The food was very good. Spinning the huge lazy Susan was a treat. Even though I lived in McComb for 7 years, we only went once a year or so.

If I have to choose between communing with the general public vs not…I choose the ‘not’ every time. Most people today are slobs and watching fat people eat is just disgusting to me.
Your issues seem moreso with your psychiartric health than fat people.

And sit around where some poor with dirty hands is touching the food ? No thank you.
I agree. Too few people practice basic hygiene for this to be something that would interest me.

My parents have been many times with church groups, friends from the area, etc. It seems like a pretty good time if you know a lot of people at your table.
I went a month or so ago for the first time. We sat at the huge table knowing no one else and it was perfectly fine. No pressure to socialize, but everyone was friendly.
The food was pretty good overall. Fried eggplant was the best thing there and it was damned good.
I do not need to return, but Im glad I went.

Those communal table "dinner party" restaurants were really trendy here for some years.
To each their own, but I have to talk too many strangers--some punishing-- with work all the time.

Or just maybe they visit the Plantations and stop in McComb on the way to or from New Orleans or the gulf coast casinos. Wild crazy thought I know.

I've eaten there many times, the food has always been good. I believe the current owner is from Louisiana.
There's another roundtable restaurant in Vicksburg, Walnut Hills. It is good also. You'll see a lot to tourists there.

Considering how many people I see coming out of the toilet w/o washing their hands, I’ll pass on shared food and utensils.

The fried eggplant alone is worth the trip.
