Reported possible gunman at Barbe highschool in LC update: all clear

i remember my senior year they locked down the campus for a day or 2 b/c of a rumored gunman

Barbe is a crazy campus for a shooter scenario

My cousin teaches there. Her brother just texted me saying that she texted him the same thing. On lockdown and 30 cops in full gear

The frick? At Barbe?

there's always a bunc of copycats after a big one. every fricked in the head kid thinks he can pull it off

in high school i played a lot of Counter-Strike and wanted to make a map of the Barbe campus and then i was like, "this will probably be taken the wrong way" and scrapped the project

Yeah, especially if that was not too long after Columbine.

In my line of work, I'm real familiar with training for active shooter and containment exercises... my wife asked me how bad it would be at barbe if it happened there. I told her she didn't want to hear the answer.

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -
Calcasieu Sheriff Tony Mancuso says that authorities received a report of a student with a gun at Barbe High School this morning, but no weapon has been found.

Mancuso said deputies found the student through surveillance video, but the student was unarmed and all students are safe

Barbe was placed under a precautionary lockdown, which has since been lifted, Calcasieu Parish School Board spokeswoman Holly Holland said.

Mancuso said a sweep of the entire school is being conducted as a precautionary measure.
