2 years old + it needs Freon = Your unit has a leak
ALSO
Any years old + it needs Freon = your unit has a leak.
i.e.
Only reason Freon would need to be added is if your unit is leaking. You must first fix the leak.

Yep and you’re gonna get high AF too
Yeah not so much. You are actually experiencing the effects of suffocation. This happens when you inhale chemicals instead of oxygen. Please don't shoot the messenger just a bit of info I picked up while getting my certification. The instructor was discussing the amount of deaths caused by refrigerant inhalation.

You mean r22 vs Puron or 410A? Unless it’s completely flushed - but I doubt it

So, from what I've read, nobody has even mentioned the coils of the outside condenser. Are they clean? You'd be surprised how having dirty coils on the condenser affects the cooling of your unit.
My sister-in-law has 5 dogs and they love to lie by the condensing unit in the summer since it is in the shade. That thing becomes coated in dog hair every year and I go over to clean the unit for her with a stiff bristled brush, some coil cleaning chemicals and my pressure washer being careful to only hit the fins of the coils head on to keep from bending them over.
BIG difference once it's cleaned.
