My source in the DOTD is as disgusted as we are. The legislature recently decided not to fund the LC bridge replacement & other bridge repairs. Don’t like it? Vote out the incumbent idiots and get new blood in there. It sucks that our choices seem to only be less retarded and fully retarded because people either don’t show up for the primaries or push the button for the incumbent, then are surprised that we end up with shite like this time after time after time. Definition of insanity…

Headed from nola to lake Charles today. Y’all think it’s better to take 90 to Laffy or 190?
Never mind. Now realizing it’s the east bound lane. Derp.

Was a parking lot yesterday because a semi ate a sedan on the bridge over the Atchafalaya in Krotz Springs.

It’s been down to one lane there for at least a couple of weeks already.

Well they were kind of forced to. When you see daylight peering through a solid concrete bridge something is wrong, but in hindsight DOTD should have fixed it as fast as I-55.
Hopefully the new administration will light a fire under DOTD’s arse or dissolve it and form a new highway department.

Oh wait
Quit with the biden bashing. He's fixing LOTS of infrastructure.
Not American infrastructure, mind you. Ukraine comes to mind...

All the more reason for, if you absolutely have to take that route, drive as FAST AS YOU CAN, speed camera pics be damned! Go to court and bring this pic with you to justify going fast enough so that if a section of roadway crumbles just ahead of you, you’ll have enough speed to zoom over it before It crumbles and caves in. Can’t imagine being a truck driver pulling a 50 ton load over that shite knowing that this situation exists.

How long does it take to patch a 10x 10 hole?
Posted on 11/17/23 at 10:58 am to Quatrepot
That repair should not take more than 3 days to complete.
They have 5000 psi concrete that fully cures in less than 24 hours now and is ready for traffic.

I would still take Hwy. 90 regardless.
I travel the Gulf Coast region very frequently and anytime I’m in the NOLA area heading west I’ll gladly take Hwy. 90 just so I can avoid that cesspool that is baton rudge!
