Have fun getting them to pay for it. It's like pulling teeth and while they are trying to get payment for the damages, you won't be able to rent from any of the 3 Enterprise brands (Enterprise, National, Alamo) and that could take months. Especially if it's through American Express.
It really isn't a complicated process, especially through Chase. You submit the documents to chase, call the company and give them the claim number, then you're basically done

I got a rental bmw while in Florida.
A rock hit the windshield and then a crack started.
I just called my insurance company and they said they would take care of it.
When I returned the car and got hit with damage my car insurance handled it.

Mistake one is renting from Enterprise. They gouge you on anything they find wrong on a car not noted when the car was picked up. If you do rent from them take photos of everything you find wrong with that car. Your situation where something fell off well they are going to make you pay. Sucks because many of these cars that are rented today are just driven into the ground to a point where shite like this happens.

Enterprise is by far the best car rental company.

I went to go see a buddy of mine when he was at NASCAR school in North Carolina. I rented a car at the airport and paid for everything they offered. Cause I knew this car would be trashed when we got done with it. Thank god I didn't have pay for any of the damages. Cause when I took it back it was smoking and making some crazy noises. Had dents all over it. But it was a fun three day trip.
Note: We burnt the parking brake up in it. Going down the road at 60 miles and pulling the brake. Will do some damage over time!!!!

Enterprise airport or local counter. It makes a huge difference.
Airport folks hardly notice shite - local offices seem to note everything.

I always circle the car and write scratches and dents visible on car upon receipt. Every time the rental people look at me like I didn't see any. They are there. Never get hit for scratches and dents. Take pics of all 4 sides with rental contract before driving off the lot.

Apparently that panel was already missing prior to my walk through inspection..I guess I failed to see it..doesn’t help that I was already awake for 18 plus hours with two of my young seeds with me and just off a 8 hr plane ride prior to looking at the car.not to mention the lighting at the rental parking lot was dim as shite.

If your credit card offers Damage Waiver as a benefit, I don't think you're responsible for a deductible. You should be able to be report it to them & let them handle it from that point.
