Rental car damage

Rented a Nissan Rogue from Enterprise a few weeks ago...did the walk around and didn’t notice any obvious scratches/damage. The following day I noticed a small panel missing from the front bumper. There’s no other damage to the bumper other than the missing panel. I’m guessing it probaly fell off sometime between driving out the lot and our final destination which was about an hour away. On the scale of 1 to 10 with one being finger fricked and 10 being porn star fricked, how fricked am I? Any ideas or help, if any to lessen the blow? Would they typically charge for the panel or entire bumper in these instances?

Call custOmer service and let them know now. Be adamant, confident, and strong willed when you talk to them. Pull a Sheila Jackson Lee. Tell them you didn’t do any damage and tell them you aren’t paying for it. Most times they’ll ask if yo twang a new car.

Discreet parking upon rental return fella. Pull way forward so their inspection guy cannot get a clear visual of said damage.

Go to a junkyard and get the missing panel off another Rogue and replace it if you’re worried about them trying to charge you

Anyone that doesn't buy the additional insurance is a moron.
That being said, if it's just the panel and it's plastic with no other damage to the bumper, you're fine.

Been doing this with no luck...the panel itself looks to be only a $50 but I doubt enterprise will charge me that amount

But sure, go ahead and pay whatever your deductible is, have your premiums go up and possibly have your insurance drop you all because you didn't want to pay 20-60 bucks to not be responsible for it.

The agents get bonuses for selling you the insurance. They have a little leverage. Tell them up front, you'll buy the insurance if they give you the best rate.

Try calling the bigger junkyards to see if they have a Rogue in the yard so you dont waste time driving around. Pull-a-Part in Harvey is who I’d try if you’re in the NOLA area

I started buying the Damage Waiver insurance. It’s $28 a day usually. Expensive but I could push it back in with huge dents, no questions asked.
Sure it inflated the rental but the extra $100 is better than some broke uninsured Mexican hitting me and causing a shitload of problems.
They charge you also for the “out of use fee” if you don’t get the insurance which over a couple weeks of getting fixed will be a few hundred bucks.
It’s not worth gambling and taking a chance on my Personal insurance, financial security at risk and peace of mind over $28 a day for 3 days.
