Any word on the MPG & pricing?

I can’t get over how much the driver looks at that screen. Seems like a big distraction. Just what I like hurtling down the road at me, several tons separated by the width of a yellow line, with a driver trying to check his 6 camera views.

The couple of videos I watched say MPG and pricing are coming.

Would guess the twin turbo v6 and hybrid will be a big leap in MPG, similar to Ford.

Power numbers are amazing, and almost 2K payload.

No V8? Oof…

Twin turbo V6, so the idea is that there won’t be a big drop off in performance.

Higher numbers than the V8

Base engine twin turbo v6 389 HP 479 ft torque
Upgrade engine Hybrid V6 437 HP, 583 Ft torque

And lower longevity and reliability...

I think that is a wait and see thing. Toyota usually doesn't miss with their reliability.

Yep, those first generation Tacos and Tundras did not last long at all.

I won't be part of the experiment.

Anyone who thinks a strung out V6 with forced induction will compare to the normally aspirated previous gen in reliability would be very foolish.

It didn't work for Ford and while I think Toyota is a superior engineering company compared to Ford, the laws of physics and limits of modern production metallurgy still apply.

I see loads of 88-98 Chevy C/K trucks daily. Next to no Toyota's of the same vintage.

What is really rare to see is a 97-2004 F150. Those things have been unusual to see for years now.

Which ones had forced induction? Refresh my memory.

Last I remember there was only an optional TRD kit for a few years of the Tundra.

I’ve been waiting to see the full interior and they delivered. I’m interested in the TRD Pro - full digital driver display, huge screen, console is just okay, but the panoramic moonroof and full sliding rear window make it a win. Just not in red.

Wish the suspension was a little higher, the Pro is only a 1.1” front lift. Waiting to see where that falls on the Fox 2.5 coilovers. Would be great if you could still get another inch or two of lift. Even if not it’s a beast.

It's no secret the Ecoboost line of engines had a very long teething period and expensive failures due to cam phasers/chain failures on trucks with less than 100k on them. After close to 10 years in production they are just getting to the point of being sorted out.

Guys who trade in for a new truck every few years never get to experience the low long term reliability in those powerplants.

Their new spray in cylinder liners on the newer V8's don't appear to be much better either.

The new Tundra isn’t very good looking inside or out.

Didn’t realize it’s shares the frame, suspension, and engine as the new Land Cruiser. The specs on it are really impressive.
