re: Relation between prescription drugs and murderers?

Yes.
Absolutely.
This is what usually seems to be the case I find:
-Kid starts doing non prescription recreational drugs.
-Over time he starts abusing said drug(s) and creates an imbalance in his brain chemistry. I'm thinking mainly of harder psychoactive drugs, like MDMA, cocaine, acid, and research chemicals. This imbalance leads to depression, anxiety, and/or even maybe a mild psychosis and their behavior changes for the worse.
- Person goes to see a doctor and they say they are depressed over stressed. they lie when the doctor asks them if they use drugs.
-Doctor knows the kid is lying, doesn't matter though because most docs are shills these days who will throw any kind of pill at a patient as long as they get theirs.
-The prescription drugs for anxiety and depression can have very bad reactions with any psychoactive drugs you might take, even tobacco. The imbalance which already existed is then further irritated.
And basically from there you get a crazy person who has so little self worth, who feels so alone, and who is so consumed with hatred for the situation they put themselves in that they do something as drastic as mass murder.
I don't think prescription psychoactive drugs are necessarily bad, but they must be used responsibly and should only be prescribed to people who it can really help.
On the other hand, I don't have anything against responsible use of recreational drugs. The problem is that when you start giving your body psychoactive cocktails the results could be very dangerous for the patient and potentially anyone around them

do you believe prescription anti-depressants or anxiety medications play a role in any of this?
Absolutely.

I didn't want to go there but he alleged that I was in someway disgruntled with my income. He started it.
If anything I am embarrassed by my income knowing how much comes from an inefficient medicare system which over-reimburses. But not enough so that I will be giving any back.

Crawfish a bit much?
My federal income tax bill alone, not counting state and local would put me in the top 1% of earners in the US.
Know any good CPAs?

The reason it exists is to compensate doctors for their time in training and preparing and speaking on a subject to other medical professionals. They must use a company-generated slide deck and cannot deviate from it. The presentations are audited by compliance departments, both internal and external. You either know this and are trolling or don't know this and heard a drug rep telling of something they did which is already illegal (like you cited earlier).
Do the unicorns fart Skittles where you live?

So, it's okay for you to game the system, theft from government, but it's not okay for the pharma industry to do the same (your accusation, not mine).
Do as I say, not as I do King Robin Masters.

Where did I ever pass judgement on anyone? I don't steal from govt either so what the frick are you babbling about. We are reimbursed the CMS rates. They just happen to be very generous and would not exist in a free market system.
God hep your patients if they are getting medical care from you. You can't even read.

No. The link is that mentally disturbed people are more likely to kill people. Mentally disturbed people are also more likely to be using medication to try and mitigate their psychoses. The meds don't cause them to kill people.
How many of these "crazy people" actually required psychoactive medication in the first place?
You know how doctors work in this country? "Oh, you hurt your knee? Here's OcyContin and Percocet...whoops, now you're a heroin addict". "Oh, your kid is sad and inattentive? Here's 'X' antidepressant and Adderall."
This society has a MAJOR problem with prescribing serious drugs on the whim like it was literally candy. These drugs CAN and WILL do things to your brain. Were all of these guys batshit crazy to begin with, or were they just mildly troubled and then warped beyond repair by these drugs that they never should have even been prescribed? No other country prescribes anywhere near as many of these drugs as America does, and its no surprise that their "psychotic kid shooting up a school" counts don't come close either.
Prescription drugs are ruining this country.

We need to stop kick backs to doctors to prescribe this shite. These drugs have a place but they are abused right now. We need to prescribe alternative treatments. You have a bit of anxiety? Go exercise. Hell, legalize prostitution and prescribe sex for depression. Sex workers deal with all sorts of personalities and issues so it isn't like they don't have experience. Also, a good lay is both mentally and physically therapeutic as we all know.
You clearly have no fricking clue how anxiety and depression work.

I will add it to the list of the other 439 things I have read today that are "ruining this country."
I feel comfortable in saying that there have been much worse and violent times in American history than we are currently in. I wonder what the buzz words of the day were when we were exterminating Native Americans.. or enslaving people..or putting people in happy camps because of their heritage.. or not allowing a certain race of people to use the same things as whitey?
We managed to survive those great periods of America, I am sure we will manage to survive people taking Xanax or Ritalin, etc.

Sounds like the same argument for gun control.

I think young men who aren't getting laid are more prone to violence. If Dylann had a girlfriend, we probably wouldn't have those nine corpses.

Was traveling thru Monroe a few years ago, called family friend that is psychiatrist up there. He invited me to come eat with him at that restaurant by the river. Got there, and some drug rep was treating us to dinner, while telling the psych that he was no longer the top prescriber of X medication. Rep knew how to motivate this particular doc.
They can't take them fishing anymore, but they figure out ways to remunerate them for prescribing their drugs. Lemme pay you to give this "seminar".

I think most psychopath shooters have mental illnesses.Whether they see a Doctor and take medicine, that might be interesting to see.
They're usually the type of Bi-Polar that hears voices ,etc.
jmho, but they're pretty far past someone taking zoloft.

Association does not equal causation . A more plausible explanation would be that people with mental illness are already much much more likey to be on meds (fact). Thus, those who are mentally ill and kill are more likely to be on meds. Same hold true for suicide.

I used to work for one of those companies. I know how it works.
I didn't say anyone cares what the doctors have to say. All I did was explain the payments in the link provided and why the companies have to report them.

Even if they find a few loopholes the reps are heavily monitored, and if the wrong people find out, execs end end up in jail.
It happened to GSK in China a couple of years ago. British executives were thrown in jail for employees bribing doctors.
It might still happen sometimes, but it would be very hard for them to get away with.

That's a movie credits version of the post on YouTube.
I believe the drugs do play a role in this, but nothing will be done about that problem thanks to Big Pharma. Attacking these drugs would help the people but hurt the government. The government would lose "support" from one of the biggest industries, Big Pharma.
