I think the one time I ever went to that was night before the Ice Dome game. School had closed and everyone got hammered.

Good bye Reggies. You were a "special place." Reggies may be gone, but its smell will live forever.

I once showed up at 9:30 because my friend was running late, then proceeded to chug anywhere from 10-15 jack and cokes within that time frame to get my money's worth

When I was working at Jimmy John's for a little while in BR, I did the exact same thing. Come home from work, get there at 9 or 9:30, then chug as many alcoholic beverages to get my money's worth, and I guess impress other people around me by chugging so much alcohol. Those were good times man. Sometimes I do miss college.

Yeah I like Ivars but if you don't know what you're going into it's a realllll shite hole definition of a dive.

ETA the clientele isn't anywhere near Reggies. Mostly mid twenties crowd with some old guys mixed in. Only time I've seen the crowd get a bit rough is some thursdays. And even then the trashy crowd stays inside for the DJ and you can still sit on the patio and enjoy a chill drinking spot

Ivars porch> earls

Granted it's bean a solid two years since I've been to earls but back when I worked in Baton Rouge the place could get packed with some trash. It was mainly inside but still. Also, I've had plenty of good nights there.

But to be honest, if you don't have an LSU ID, and there is no riff raff around you, they'll let you in for $10.

this must be the case because I've never been asked for my lsu ID at Fred's, or any other tiger land bar for that matter.

So now I guess we finally figured out what white privilege is?

I can dig it.

Girl & I thoroughly appreciated the Canes guy opening a tab for the entire bar this year

Fun fact. During the 30 minutes of open bar provided by Todd graves and Brandon Landry at at Paddy's earls served ~ 2000 Vegas bombs.

Earls definitely has it's faults. But one thing I can respect about it was those owners know how they make their money.

Sure it was hot as frick on St Paddy's, but they sold almost 30k dollars in presold bracelets. They almost covered their overhead (for the day) before they even opened the door.

Shout out to all my earls workers. What y'all don't know is some of the people there arrived at 630am and didn't leave until 5am the next morning.

I'll never forget one time we went for free drinks 8-10. Friend of mine stockpiled rum and cokes for the 2 hours, ended up pulling his pants down and peeing in the girls bathroom sink while all the girls waiting yelled at him...I was blackout drunk so I don't remember it but it's the story I was told the day after that I'll always tell when I reflect on Reggies....

How were they able to resolve this so quickly? Very curious. I knew they would be back, but damn. These boys never skipped a beat
