agree.. im republican, will be voting for trump.. because he is the less of the 2 evils in my eyes. Dont be mistaken though, he is a snake in the grass. Dude was a democrat a few short years ago, until he saw republican was an easier ticket and made his swap. I dont trust anything trump says "even if i like it"z

I can't bring myself to voting for him so I have decided to give my vote to a 3rd party candidate as more of a "statement" (if you want to call one vote making a statement) that the US deserves better.

Probably. I had a lot of trouble finding information on the flood from way up here in Pittsburgh. Tigerdroppings was the best news source, but that's no shocker.

Since Trump (being a politician) donated a truck load of toys and supplies and visited some of the flooded areas, CNN NYT, WAPO, and Fox have no choice but to cover it in depth.

Of course it's framed as a political topic in many ways....but at that time, Louisiana and Trump's goals were at least temporarily aligned in the sense that they both needed more press coverage. It's good that more people are aware of the need for volunteers, disaster aid, etc.

Pre-race invocation at the Bristol NASCAR race just included prayers for the people of Louisiana.

Publicity -- and prayer -- works.

Until trump showed up it wasn't even a 30 second spot in the national media.

That's not true. Not only has it been in the national media, the damn local news all the way over here in Seattle has covered it every single evening.

If they can leave the race baiting at home, they could help draw attention in a good way as well when they visit.

It looks really bad that Hillary and Obama are in Martha's Vineyard this weekend. I doubt they'd have bothered visiting Louisiana had a political opponent not forced their hand.

The democrats have nothing to gain by doing something to help Louisiana.

Trump, on the other hand, wants to reassure he has Louisiana in the bag for the republicans

So the dems couldn't win....which means trump was...

Yet he had to do this and they didn't.

That is the most fricktarded logic I have ever seen. You literally contradict yourself in two subsequent sentences.

Seriously, are you mentally handicapped?

Make millions aware of the need of flood victims, including the need for volunteers and disaster aid.

Even after Trump...110,000 flooded homes in Louisiana still gets less news coverage as 110 homes lost in a California forest fire.

He actually did a great job with this visit. Got down here, donated much needed supplies, and didn't say anything stupid. Now he has forced the president and Hillary to come and visit. I don't think either understands that magnitude of the devastation. Driving through the old part of Denham Springs was depressing today. Piles and piles of antique furniture stacked roof high along both sides of the street, then driving past houses with literally everything in a pile on the street.

Obama visiting would mean huge international exposure. It could be a good thing for flood victims if he can resist creating division with controversial comments on BLM or the Alton Sterling shooting when he visits.

The democrats haven't been the party of the lower classes and poor for many years now. Republicans have been far more concerned about the welfare of the lower classes for years.

The media just reports what they are told by the ones who own them.

Yesterday a friend was helping a co-worker who lives in DS. He sent me a picture that showed the street the guy lived on and all you could see was piles and piles of garbage on side of the street and he said "this isn't just piles of garbage, its people's lives".

You are right, you can turn on the morning news on any given day and there is a report about fires in California. Louisiana has a once in a life time type flood and it gets a few mentions.
